I have a wired Xbox 360 Controller which I am using on both my PC and my laptop... Which is having some trouble on the PC when the Vibration is enabled in games. (Amongst other problems)
I read the other post, where the answer was that the power supply and motherboard bus were not powerful enough and it was that which is causing the problems, now I'm not saying I'm totally ruling that out, but I'm fairly confident that my PC should be capable of this (Especially if my laptop is).
I believe my problem is to do with the installation, as there was a problem during the installation on the PC...
While the Xbox 360 controller installed it's drivers and what-not the first time I connected it to my PC, my friend disconnected the safety 'Don't pull the Xbox off the shelf' section of the wire and an error popped up but the installation completed. The controller doesn't behave the same way as it does on the laptop, for example, the green ring just keeps blinking whereas on the laptop it settled at the 'Player 1' quarter. However, the functionality (buttons and sticks) does work fine in games, minus the vibration crashing.
To be honest, I don't really care about the vibration and have just disabled it in the game options, but I have recently purchased a game where I can not disable the vibration and so I can't use my controller with it. (sad face). Having said that, it would be nice to stop the green light from blinking repeatedly.
I've tried going through the add/remove programs but can't seem to figure out how to totally remove everything so I can do a fresh install.
I don't know if there's software it's installed, or registry items, or drivers. But I need to remove everything which this has installed so I can reinstall it without error.
My title should've probably been: 'How to completely UNinstall a Wired Xbox 360 Controller on a Windows PC' as that is the portion of the reinstalling which I am having trouble with.
Can anyone help me?
Thanks! (happy face with slightly concerned brow)
